Effects work galore

Working hard in Lightwave with our effects. San Francisco at night and fly over and down into the city shot. Turned a super high res day light image map into night, added lights which took a lot of work in Photoshop. The mesh is topographical and actual CGI model not just an image on a flat frame. Next up build an old San Francisco street.

Another great shoot!

I really am a blessed human being. Our crew is the most inspired, talented, and beautiful human beings I have ever in my 40 years plus career, had the pleasure to work with.
I start this post by thanking them for making a dream come true. I could not do this without you.
We shot the scene where the grandfather takes his grandson for a walk in the country at night to see the stars. But this night they see much more. This actually happened to me and it was amazing to recreate yet another event in my life.
John Catalano, his son John Jr. and John O’leary made a fantastic rig for the over head lighting that worked so well. We call them the John’s.
At this point in the production we are getting very far along. Past the halfway point. And the editing Issac is doing in post is showing us all that we are on the path to a great show. I can’t begin to express how exciting all this is.
This Sunday we are shooting the gardener scene with an elaborate prosthetic silicone makeup made by my interns. It’s the last big scene with Logan who has been doing an amazing job of playing me at 7 years old. Another few weeks and we will finish principle photography.

Update

We are in post production editing the new scene with the bedroom. We have also been working on the garners character make up pieces which Gisell has been doing a great job on in the lab running Gel 10 silicone. This material looks and feels like real skin and it moves like it.

We are still looking for over grown backyard to shoot this scene in by the 18th of September. We are looking in the Ventura area.

On the 11th of this month we shoot the scenes with the Grandfather and young Mark as they walk a country road at night and witness a stunning UFO encounter up close and personal.

We finally have a composer to do our score. We welcome the very talented Mark Peterson who is currently working on the Grandfather’s devil scene.

Glenn Campbell and Tammy Klein are working on our effects and I’m doing some myself in Lightwave.

Issac starts our first real trailer cut from actual scene footage starting next week!

More to come.
